ANIMA — Privacy Policy

ANIMA is a personal AI companion for Android. This page describes exactly what the app does with your data — nothing more, nothing less. There are no ads, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and we never sell or share your data with data brokers.

What stays on your phone

Your conversation history and the memories ANIMA builds about you are stored in a SQLite database on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers and not backed up by us. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them permanently.

What leaves your phone

• Messages. The text of a conversation turn (plus the relevant memories the app chooses to include) is sent through our backend to DeepSeek, our AI model provider, to generate a reply and to extract memories worth keeping. Our backend passes this through — it does not store the message content and never writes it to logs.
• Voice recordings. If you speak to ANIMA, the audio clip is sent through our backend to a speech-to-text service to be transcribed. The audio is processed in transit and is not stored by us.
• Account details. Your username, email address and a hashed (bcrypt) password are stored on our server so you can sign in.
• Usage counters. We count your daily requests and approximate AI cost to enforce fair-use limits. These are numbers and timestamps tied to your account id only, never message content.

Health data (Health Connect)

With your permission, ANIMA reads steps, sleep and heart rate from Health Connect. This data is used inside the app only — to show you your own trends. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties. Health data is included in prompts sent to the AI model only if you turn on the separate in-app opt-in for that; with that setting off, your health data never leaves your phone. You can revoke Health Connect permissions at any time in Android settings.

Deleting your account and data

In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account row and usage counters from our server. Or email info@behzatai.com from your account address and we will delete it for you. On-device memory is removed by deleting the app's data or uninstalling it.

Retention

Our server keeps only your account record and current usage counters, for as long as your account exists. There is no conversation history, no voice audio, and no health data on our server. Message and audio content sent to DeepSeek and to the transcription service is subject to those providers' own retention policies for abuse handling; we do not request or receive copies.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the account data we hold, and you can withdraw permissions at any time. Contact info@behzatai.com.

ANIMA is not intended for anyone under 13.

If this policy changes in a way that affects what leaves your phone, we will update this page and the date above.
